Pengaruh jumlah minyak terhadap sifat fisis kulit ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus) untuk bagian atas sepatu

Fatliquor could change physical properties of leather, which make it softer, more elastic, flexible and give smooth grain surface. This research was conducted to observe the influence of fatliquor addition on physical characteristics of nila skin for shoe upper. The physical characteristics in this research, consisted of tensile strength, tear strength and elongation at break. The fatliquor was put into the leather with the amount of 4%, 6% and 8%. Respectively, the results showed that the addition of fatliquor could improve the physical properties of nila skin. More fatliquor, could rise the physical properties value of nila skin. The optimal amount of fatliquor was 4%, which resulted in tensile strength value of 233,96 kg/cm2, 70% for elongation at break and 36,08 kg/cm for tear strength value, and fulfill the standard requirement of Acceptable Quality Levels in Leathers.
