Abstract
Biologically active food supplements (BAFS), nutriceuticals and parapharmaceuticals, borrow an intermediate position between drugs and food products. BAFS can be utilized successfully for a saturation of an organism with dietary biologically active agents, deficiency of which are observed frequently in the modern man. For today, BAFS could be considered as substantial agents for chemoprevention of cancer, cardiovascular diseases and other diseases of a civilization. The examples of BAFS, at which the ability to inhibit the development of malignant tumors and atherosclerosis was revealed in special studies, are presented.
