Abstract

Problem setting. The article is devoted to the issue of formation and development of prudential supervision in Ukraine in line with EU requirements. Due to the acceleration of the process of integration into the European economic space in the legislation appeared the term "prudential supervision". Most researchers of selected issues focused their attention on certain aspects of prudential supervision, meanwhile in the current conditions of EU legislation and procedures of state regulation of insurance activity in Ukraine these issues require further study both the finance and law. Analysis of resent researches and publications. In the solution of the problems of effective organization of the processes of prudential supervision, are involved foreign and domestic experts, including Astalos L., M. Barth, John. Bruce L.Vremenko, O. Zhuravka, O. Korvat, William McDonald, S/Reverchuk , G. Thompson, RJ. Hobart, P. Sharma, A. Chatterjee, etc . Article's main body. In the article is determined a list of methods of state regulation of insurance and acknowledged priority of prudential supervision, analyzed international requirements for the introduction of prudential supervision; considered the possibility of introducing requirements for the solvency of insurance companies Ukraine based on EU Directive Solvency II. Conclusions and prospects for the development. Preferred method of state regulation of insurance activity in modern conditions according to the EU requirements is prudential supervision. International demands to it are related to the assessment of insurer risk, capital adequacy and solvency. The main tasks of state regulation and prudential supervision established at European requirements for capital adequacy assessment is to develop risk management standards and uniform requirements for reporting and disclosure system, and adaptation of the EU approach, taking into account characteristics of domestic insurers.
