Abstract
In given work are represented the result of a research mechanisms experimental cataractogenesis, induced by chemical activation of lipid's peroxidation in tissues of an eye with a determination of a free-radical status of crystalline lens. This research showed that diquat injected intravitreally as a single dose (600 nmole in 30 microliters of isotonic saline) induced progressive cortex cataract. Experimentional cataractogenesis is accompanied by increase of activity of lipid's peroxidation and oxidation of sulfhydryl groups of protein on the background of a progressive exhaustion of antioxidant system of crystalline lens. These results let us to us this model of cataract for an estimation patogenetical orientation of suggested anticataractal drugs.
