As ´medidas´ da saúde midiática: jornalismo e cidadania no Fantástico

The “measures” of health on the media: journalism and citizenship in the telvision program Fantástico The search for a healthy body appears as one of the most important contemporary issues. The individuals are confronted by media discourses that incite they to get in shape, as if a new health condition was possible, since the body is modeled by techniques and measures. In this sense, the care with physical appearance produces an ethics of existence in which being thin is a synonymous of being healthy. Positioning itself as a tool for building citizenship, the journalism prepares a discourse that leads to practices the promotion of the body in networks of knowledge, power and truth. This reality raises ethical questions such as, is possible to the media managing the health of individuals? What discourses are employed to define a body that should be framed from a particular pattern? This article aims to investigate the relationship between health, journalism and citizenship, having as a empirical object the Medida Certa of the Rede Globo televison program Fantástico. A busca pelo corpo saudável aparece como uma das mais importantes questões contemporâneas. O indivíduo é interpelado por discursos midiáticos que o incitam a entrar em forma, como se uma nova condição de saúde fosse possível, desde que o corpo seja modelado a partir de determinadas técnicas e medidas. Nesse sentido, o cuidado com a aparência física produz uma ética da existência na qual ser magro tem relação sinonímica com ser saudável. Posicionando-se como instrumento de construção da cidadania, o jornalismo elabora um dizer que conduz a práticas de agenciamento do corpo em redes de saber, poder e verdade. Esta realidade suscita questões éticas, tais como: é possível, à mídia, gerir a saúde dos indivíduos? Quais discursos são empregados para definir um corpo que deve ser enquadrado a partir de um determinado padrão? O presente artigo pretende investigar a relação entre saúde, jornalismo e cidadania, tendo como objeto empírico o quadro Medida Certa, veiculado no programa Fantástico, da Rede Globo.
