Abstract
The aim of this work is to introduce Ibn Ebu Tahir Tayfur and his book called Kitabu Baghdad. Kitabu Baghdad is important in that it is the first work for Baghdad and the author has written the large part of the Khalif al-Ma’mun’s period based upon his personal observations. In this work first of all will been informe about the author’s life and Works, then will be mentioned at the contents of the work and his sources which Ibn Ebu Tahir Tayfur benefited from them at his rumors. The conveyers of information at Tarihu Baghdad and the historians and the authors who transfer from Ibn Tayfur are the other subjects which are be mentioned in this work. In the same way Kitabu Baghdad is significant in that it takes part among the sources which the historians as Taberi, Abu’l-Faraj al-Isfahani, al-Mas’udi, Khatib al-Baghdadi used from them.
