Abstract
The debatable perfusion of western ideals into the traditional India evoked no lopsided prescriptions for social and cultural transformation on Western lines. However, a selective transformation is undeniable due to foreign influence. Kantapura discusses the ground for this transformation considering the western incursion into the Indian paradigm in the pre-colonial period. The author's intent in sustaining the Indian ethos in the new sway of western influence and with which he balances the mutual opposition. The paper treats the overt paradoxes and the antidotes offered by Raja Rao to absorb the western ideals with an Indian spirit.
