Abstract
Lower infant mortality rates, which is an important component of mortality of children under 14 years were noted in the Samara region 2004 to 2011 compared to the Volga Federal District and the Russian Federation. It was stated that the reduction in mortality of children in the age group of 1 to 4 years due to the decrease in its rates from malignancies, congenital malformations and external causes. Measures to improve the health of children and adolescents implemented within the framework of regional target programs and projects are also considered in the article.
