The article deals with the refl ection of the connection between the ways of individual’s manner of speaking and the process of his life values’ changing. It offers the analysis of the usage of lexical and grammatical means in different periods of the protago- nist’s life. Special attention is paid to lexical ways of the protagonist’s speech representa- tion. The article gives information on the great variety of the vocabulary and its functioning as an indicator of the protagonist’s speech developing. Connotative meaning of the lexical units, the ways of its manifestation in the text and its role in the protagonist’s representation are closely considered
