Abstract
The purpose of the current study was to explore mobbing behaviors that teachers impose on school administrators in schools and the impacts of these behaviors on school administrators. This study is significant as it attempts to decrease mobbing behaviors and their impacts in schools. This research is a case study, one of the qualitative research methods. The sample of the study comprised of 15 school administrators working in primary and elementary schools located in the Birecik district of Şanlıurfa in the 2012-2013 academic year. The sample of the study was selected at random. Data were collected via individual interviews. In the qualitative analysis of the data, descriptive and content analyses were used. Research findings indicated that teachers imposed mobbing on school administrators in the reputation, communication, job-related and social relationship-related dimensions. The negative impacts of mobbing behaviors on school administrators were restlessness/discomfort, demoralization, apathy, conflict, alienation, distrust in teachers, and lack of motivation, burnout, and decrease in job satisfaction, commitment to school and performance and feeling of self-depreciation. Some implications were provided based on research findings.
