Narcissism in Organizational Contexts of Selected State Schools in Konya Province

Abstract

The general thrust of this research is to measure the level of organizational narcissism in the selected primary and secondary schools in Konya Province. Descriptive method of research used. Study covered up with 45 teachers in 29 schools. In this study it is found out that: most of the respondents have been in the teaching profession for considerably long period of time, have obtained government license to teach, and are in the employ of their current school relatively short where they teach. As regards to their organizational narcissism view, the respondents, in general, partly agree on being narcissistic towards their organization. Test of significant difference is conducted, instead of test of significant correlations between the demographic profiles of the respondents and their assessments. Testing the hypotheses, it is revealed that: there is a significant difference between the respondents’ assessments on their levels of organizational narcissism when they are grouped together according to, years in the teaching profession, and in their current employment. However, no significant difference exists between the respondents’ assessments on their levels of organizational narcissism when they are grouped together according to education level.
