Abstract
In this study we investigated the interrelation between macroscopic parameters of melanoma and its histopathologic features and prognosis. It has been established that amelanotic melanomas are associated with high depth of invasion as defined by Breslow, their volume and expressed prominence while pigmentation of melanoma is associated with the presence of epithelioid-cell population. The height of the exophytic part of the tumor and its volume have a great predictive value. Tumor height threshold exceeding 3 mm and volume of the prominent part of the exophytic part of the tumor more than 205,15 mm3 are associated with the absence of 5-year disease-free survival of patients.
