Abstract
Effect of different levels of Phosphorus and Sulphur on uptake and content of N, P and S by mungbean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) in a 2 years field experiment on alluvial soil, deficient in available S and high in available P during the Kharif 2009 and 2010 at Institute of Agricultural Sciences B.H.U. Varanasi. The treatments were in a factorial combination of 4 levels each of P (0, 15, 30 and 45 kg P2O5 /ha) and 4 levels of S (0, 10, 20 and 30 kg S/ha). The uptake and content of N, P and S by mungbean differed significantly due to increasing levels of phosphorus and sulphur. The uptake and content of nutrients (N, P and S) were significantly superior at 45 kg P2O5 and S30. However, difference between sulphur 30 and 20 kg were at par.
