Hanging type double screen grain cleaner ? A drudgery reduction boon of tribal farm women

In predominantly tribal and most backyard areas of M.P. almost 80% agricultural work load is on farm women .The use of traditional tool and equipment for the work add further to their drudgeries. The farm women adopt long static postures for some of the farm activities, which increased the static muscular effort resulting in high physiological cost and low productivity. Present Study was carried out at Piparpani and Baja Village of Mandla District. Front Line Demonstration was conducted under Krishi Vigyan Kendra Mandla during Year 2010-11. A total of 40 farm women were selected for the study. The study mainly dealt with ergonomic evaluation of cleaning of wheat grain by Hanging Type Double Screen Grain Cleaner. It is very beneficial as it saves time and energy. Physiological responses and physiological cost of work was reduced significantly. The result of the study revealed increased efficiency and reduced HR work, ÄHR whereas output is concerned it was 22kg/hour by local sieve (chhana), which increased to 218kg/Hour by Hanging Double Screen Grain Cleaner. The physiological cost of work reduced from 104 to 92.2 beats/min, respectively, which compared in the two operations.
