Abstract
Two hundred forty, 1 day old layer chicks divided into 5 groups were offered commercial layer ration containing 6% CF(G1), 8% CF (G2), 8% CF + enzyme mixture @ 1.5g/kg feed (G3), 10% CF+enzyme mixture @ 2.5g/kg feed(G4) and 12% CF+enzyme mixture @4.0g/kg feed (G5) upto the age of 72 weeks. The chicks of G3 group gained significantly (P<0.05) highest body weight (1385.86± 12.12g), which reflects better utilization of feed nutrients. Lowest mortality rate observed in G4 group (4.33%) and highest in G5 group (7.42%). Lowest FER was recorded in G3 group and also represented more then 10% extra large size eggs. The layers of this group continued egg laying upto 72 weeks. Margin of profit was also highest (31.59%) in G3 group as compared to other groups. It may be concluded that incorporation of enzyme mixture @ 1.5g/kg feed to layer ration containing 8% CF may be treated as most suitable feed combination for layers.
