Numerous, contributions based on studies on human behaviour at work has been reported not only from India but also world wide. This paper presents a study that attempts to measure the level of Organisational Role Stress that may prevail among the employees in the IT sector in India and identify significant personal and work related parameters that could be used to estimate work stress. A carefully designed questionnaire, derived from established instruments reported in the literature was used for collection of data from among employees of IT based companies located in the state of Kerala, located in the southernmost part of India. Step wise regression was employed to establish models that can be used to estimate stress levels in individuals from personal and work related parameters.
