Abstract
The experiment was conducted at the P.G. Department of Horticulture, Kulbhaskar Ashram Post Graduate College, Allahabad, during the year 2012-13. There were eight treatment combinations (T2-T8) along with control (T1). Different ratios of soil, sand, leaf mould, vermicompost and poultry manure were filled in polythene bags (25×15cm, 200 gauges thick). Among the media of soil, sand, poultry manure, leaf mould, vermicompost in the ratio of 1:1:1:1 , respectively was found best in terms of height, stem girth, number of leaf lets, fresh weight, dry weight, root/shoot ratio. All the treatments were found better over control. Within six months seedlings have attained buddable size and on an average 60 cm length of seedling was in common observations.
