Abstract
In this paper, a frame work is developed for benchmarking internal supply chain performance using financial data as an alternative to traditional approach of use of different models of supply chain performance evaluation. This frame work is demonstrated by using the publicly disclosed financial data compiled and distributed in the PRO WESS databases maintained by the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE). By following this framework, a firm can identify areas of opportunity for improvement in its internal supply chain. Further, the framework can help to identify specific reasons behind the performance levels in t he internal supply chain and stimulate performance improvement.
