Abstract
This research aims to analyze the slope erosion rat e by using paddy straw fibers as cover for land surface. This study is testing in the laboratory by using USLE (Universal Soil Loss Equation) model as a comparison to determine the amount of the reduction of the erosion rate that occurs , both on the land without the covering or covering. Research conducted with 3 variations in the intensity of rain that is 50 mm/hour, 100 mm/hour and 120 mm/hour and use artificial rainfall with a Rainfall Simulator. The results of this research show that t he rate of erosion on soil that was given in the form of straw fibers cover layer of the paddy with the covering percentage is 30% dry weight or 38, 7 gr/m 2 has decreased when compared with the rate of erosion occurring on the ground without covering.
