CRLH LOADED Y-SHAPED UWB ANTENNA FOR RADIO-NAVIGATION/LOCATION

Abstract

In this paper, Artificial Magnetic Material based CRLH-TL is deployed into the UWB antenna in order to prevent interference problem with other wireless system in the vicinity. The complementary geometry of proposed CRLH-TL is etched into the Y-shaped UWB antenna. Th e negative value of permittivity and permeability are verified for incl usion using MATLAB. The antenna performance is measured for Y-shaped patch with one and two inclusion etched. The results are presented in term s of Return Loss, VSWR, and Radiation Pattern. These types of antennas can be used in Real time locating systems(RTLS) such as Aeronautical Radiona vigation, Maritime Radionavigation and Radio Astronomy.
