BREAST CANCER IMAGE SEGMENTATION USING MORPHOLOGICAL OPERATIONS

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women. Early detection is the key to improve breast cancer prognosis. Mammography is one of the reliable methods for early detection of breast carcinomas. In this paper, using two principal morphological operations are dilation and erosion. The proposed system will help the doctors to improve the diagnosis of the disease to detected cancer cells. The data set of mammogram image were taken from Baghdad madinaAl-tab andazadi hospital Kirkuk.
