Abstract
The design of R.C.C slabs involves many constraint s like different edge conditions, loading, geometry and I.S. 456-2000 code provisions. The design has to satisfy all the constraints. This paper demonstrates the applicability of artificial neural networks and genetic algorithms for the design of one ?way slabs to satisfy all the design constraints.
