Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to determine the function of “implicit meaning” elements that finds its expression to the acquirements in Turkish Lesson Curriculum (6th - 8th Grades) and to describe the level of use in the 6th, 7th and 8th Grades’ Turkish textbooks published by Ministry of Education of 2015-2016 academic year. In the present research in which a document analysis model has adopted, content analysis method was used to analyze the data. In accordance with this purpose, activities at the Turkish course workbooks was classified, centering upon the concepts that carry implicit meaning in Turkish. Onan and Tiryaki's classification criteria were used to categorize the data, making some changes in these criteria. It is often seen to have touched upon the activities toward carrying covert meaning elements especially in the fiction and poetry texts with literary quality in the textbooks examined.
