Abstract
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) foam is used in fitness facilities floors because of its shock absorption and isolation properties. Varying some material properties such as density and thickness, a range of these materials have been studied in order to evaluate their dynamic and acoustic behaviour. Two material properties (dynamic stiffness, and sound absorption coefficient) have been characterized according to the corresponding standards: ISO 9052 and ISO 10534-2. The results provide useful information to evaluate the influence of the density and thickness in the dynamic and acoustic behaviour of these materials.
