Abstract

Social work profession to promote social change and development, social cohesion and the empowerment of people and liberation. Social justice, principles of human rights, collective responsibility and respect for diversity are embedded in social work. Social work theory, social sciences, humanities and indigenous knowledge-based, social work to attract people and structures to deal with life's challenges and improve welfare. Practice and professional social work has more modern origins of science, and is generally considered to have developed out of three stocks. First, individual cases, by the charity association in the mid-19th century to create a strategy. Second, social management, including various forms of poverty relief "poor relief." Statewide poverty can be said to have its roots in 17th-century English Poor Law, but through the efforts of charity associations, the first systematic. Third by the Social Action - rather than individual needs immediate resolution to engage, through community focus groups and cooperation in order to improve their social conditions, so as to reduce poverty and political action. This method was originally developed by resettlement housing movement.
