There is a considerable amount of shortenings and abbreviations in scientific and technical texts, particularly in manuals, which became an integral part of modern everyday life. A detailed study of the structure of these lexical items and methods of translating them into Russian can contribute to a better understanding and proper use of high-technology devices and gadgets.
