Abstract
Abstract We report an interesting case of urinary tract infection (UTI) in 40 years old diabetic female, whose mid- stream urine sample collected by taking all sterile precautions showed ciliated parasite along with Trichomonas vaginalis and Escherichia coli. It was observed on repeat examination also. Although it is difficult to predict about the pathogenic potential of ciliated protozoan parasite in urinary tract, which is abnormal site for invasion by ciliated protozoan parasite, the presence of ciliated protozoan parasite in urinary tract shows that diabetes is such a dreadful condition that gives opportunity to any microbe to invade any site.
