Sustainable Development Researches between Theory and Practice

This study aimed to recognize the role of the interest in and applicability of research and studies of sustainable development. It also aimed to identify determinants and constraints that prevent the following of the recommendations of these studies and other research in the field of sustainable development. Hence the study problem focused on how to answer the following main question: What is the extent of the applicability of the recommendations of the studies and research of sustainable development in the field? A descriptive analytical approach was used for the purpose of this study, to present the phenomenon's quantity and quality as they are in the field. This study selected a random sample of researchers in the field of sustainable development. Here are the most prominent findings of the study: (1) The study showed that the application of the recommendations of the research and studies of sustainable development has gained the attention of many directors of the institutions which were the focus of those studies. (2) The study pointed out that research and studies on sustainable development had promoted facilities and institutions of those who where subject of such research. (3) The study showed the presence of obstacles and limitations preventing implementation of the recommendations of studies and research for sustainable development. (4) The study showed that some of the institutions, their financial material resources and their culture have been impediments to the application of the recommendations of the studies. The main recommendations of the study are as follows: - The need to mobilize public opinion by all the means of media and cultural institutions in order to stimulate them into the application of the recommendations of the studies related to them. - The need to provide financial support to the institutions in order to implement the recommendations of their own research. - The need to enhance administrative education of the institutions so as to be efficient enough to understand and accept the process of applying the recommendations of such studies. - The necessity for institutions, to show maximum flexibility in modifying their regulations so as to be supportive of the application of the recommendations of studies and research.
