Abstract

MIMO based Mobile adhoc network is a collection ofmobile adhoc nodes with multiple antennas. Eachnode forward data from one to others and producesand consumes data of its own. Conventional floodingbroadcast in Mobile adhoc network has many sourcesof inefficiency. A new physical layer technique[1,2]for broadcasting in multi-antenna mobile adhocnetworks makes broadcast a much more efficient thantraditional flooding broadcast. This broadcastingtechnique requires that all nodes that receive amessage retransmit it at the same time. Because themessages are identical, interference can beconstructive rather than destructive. The multipletransmitters act as an antenna array ? anOpportunistic Large Array, or OLA ? to transmit themessage farther and ultimately with fewer hops thanit could have been transmitted by conventionalmeans. This paper presents several networkingalgorithms for utilizing such physical layer broadcastto solve problems of multiple antenna mobile adhocnetworks. The main goal of many applications ofmobile adhoc networks is not only the mutualcommunication among the nodes themselves but alsoto enable the transmission of locally generated data toa distant receiver which has extremely lowMSE(Mean Square Error) with respect to eachindividual node.
