AMBIGUOUS MENTAL INFLUENCE OF NETWORK COMPUTER GAMES ON MAN AND SOCIETY

Abstract
The article is devoted to the role of the network computer games in the social life in the era of post- modernity. The author draws attention to the transformation of computer games in the means of escape from reality. We consider the two opposite sides of the impact of network gaming games in particular and screen cul- ture in general on the consciousness of the individual and society ? positive and negative. The first is the imple- mentation of a metaphysical principle of combining multidimensionality and integrity of consciousness and ob- jective reality, and the second in the loss of the unity of picture of the world and their place in it as a result of the erosion of a subject in a variety of semantic fields of screen culture. As a result, the conclusion about the im- portance of preserving their own identity for successful adaptation to the multidimensionality of postmodern society
