Abstract
The aim of the article is to evaluate the development of information systems and technology in the insurance industry and to study their impact on the organization of insurance protection in the agrarian sector. The necessity of wide use of modern information technology in the organization of insurance protection for agricultural producers is substantiated. The main types of information systems and technologies are characterized, including: multispectral sensing using unmanned flying vehicles, assessment of vegetation based on satellite images, remote sensing with the recording of data in the Geographic Information Systems (GIS), analysis of multispectral images, Internet things, digital networks for early warning, crowdsourcing, tools of information exchange through social networks. An example of using the remote sensing technology to map and monitor the growth of rice in some regions of Asia is considered. The practice of crowdsourcing platforms to increase the accuracy of the effects of precipitation is discussed.
