The technology transfer value increases with the transition to the innovation model of economic development. Under these conditions, the mechanism of technologies transfer should form an economic interest and the needs of an enterprise in continuous large-scale upgrading the production on the advanced technological base. According to the Law of Ukraine ?On the state regulation of activities in the field of technology transfer?, the technology transfer is considered as transfer of technology, which is formalized by means of concluding bilateral or multilateral agreements between physical and legal persons that establishes, modifies or terminates property rights and obligations regarding technology and/or its components. Studying the process of technology transfer highlighted its main stages. It is established that the process of technology transfer begins from the stage of identifying and formulating the idea as it is. At the next stage, qualified professionals carry out scientific research and experimental development. The next stage is to develop an appropriate technology based on the analysis of research and technical, patent, regulatory documents, marketing research and the technical proposal approval. The prearrangement and development of production is carried out. The penultimate stage is market research to identify the target market segment and the specific position in it. The final stage of the technology transfer process is implementation of the innovative product and profit from its realization. The results of the study revealed that technology transfer is now becoming an important aspect of international cooperation. In particular it is established that, as of 2014, 28 new technologies were transferred in Ukraine. It should be noted that in the course of the study the main advantages of technology transfer implementation for the main spheres of application have been established: for scientific research organizations, institutes and universities, for industry and for society as a whole. The mechanisms of technology transfer in foreign countries have been studied, and the priority fields of the technology transfer state support in Ukraine have been identified. It was established that for the active introduction of research results into the economy of Ukraine, the innovation policy should be formed, including forms and methods of scientific and technical activity state stimulation, enhancing the interaction of science and production for wide implementation of designs into production, the final result being a new competitive, marketable products, new processes, organizational solutions. Thus, well-functioning technology and knowledge transfer process between research organizations and business entities is profitable not only for its immediate participants, but also for the whole society in a particular region. That is why regions that support innovation, become more developed, which, in its turn, benefits the local universities, small and medium businesses and residents in the region.
