Abstract
Cosmopolitan diffusion of the largest family of pond snails ? Lymnaeidae (Gastropoda Pulmonata) ? across the world and their high parasitological importance accomplished the system of species. Its revision on the basis of complex taxonomic analysis and systematization of Lymnaea revealed the necessity of updating ecology of molluscs in order to define their role in dissemination of helminths and develop measures for protection and prevention of dangerous human and animal diseases.
