Abstract
The article discusses the principles of formation of the Russian Empire. It is emphasized that although Russia is in some degree connected with Byzantium, but genetically the basis of this Empire still Mongolian (the Golden Horde) start. In addition, the article discusses ethno-national policy of the Russian state throughout its history.
