Abstract
This article presents an analytical material, revealing the essence of a such psychological phenomenon as a sense of symmetry in terms of the normal and abnormal development. The article argues that, a sense of symmetry is associated to a certain extent with higher human needs in beauty and harmony in its development, but at the over-accentuated level it becomes disadaptive, pathological.
