Abstract

Subject. Book market in Ukraine in 1920 s. The aim of investigation. In this article author aspires to demonstrate how the authority was arousing reader’s interest in 1920s and how the priorities and character of consumer’s demand were adjusting by the means of price policy. Methodology. We used general scientific, general historical and special scientific methods in the process of investigation. Results. The historical review of book market in Ukraine in 1920s had been done. Priorities of consumers of printed production had been determined. We ascertained that state was trying to not allow influence of market to fix prices and had become its regulator. Practical implications. Results of investigation can be applied in the studying process of universities and colleges while tuition of subject ?organization of consumer protection?. Conclusion. Reduction of prices had become consistent policy of party and state. Despite the fact that state dotation was concentrated on books for village and social-political literature, the book kept becoming cheaper.
