Abstract

Subject of research ? export potential of timber industry of the Republic of Belarus. The purpose of the article ? to study the dynamics and assessment of export potential of timber industry complex of Belarus, identification of existing problems, identify areas of development of export potential of the industry. Research methods ? systems analysis, comparison, generalization and analogies, direct payments, graphic. Results. The questions of increasing the export potential of timber industry complex of the Republic of Belarus are considered. Analyzed are the dynamics of exports of goods of industry for 2000-2013, the structure and geography of deliveries of products, problems are identified. The directions of development of the export potential of the timber industry, measures and mechanisms to improve the industry's foreign economic policy are determined. Results using sphere ? management of timber industry complex. The results can be used by the Ministry of Economy, timber industry organizations, academics, university students and postgraduates. Conclusions. The study showed that the export potential of the forestry industry of Belarus for 2001 - 2013 increased by 3.1 times, but the pace of its growth in recent years due to the global financial and economic crisis decreased. The exports of goods structure in the European Union requires improvement. The key task of the timber industry complex of Belarus is the increase of its competitiveness and export capacity through innovative activities. It is necessary of ensure priority development of export-oriented and import-substituting production of deep processing of raw wood, based on resource-saving and environmentally friendly technologies. It is also necessary to take measures to diversify exports and improve the industry's foreign economic policy.
