The concept of wheeled vehicles position stability provision on the different stages of the life cycle is developed. The structure of the main components on the basis of modern approaches to ensure the safe use of wheeled vehicles is defined. The structure includes: ? at the design stage: the definition of position stability, the development of theoretical principles on the basis of modern approaches and methods to improve the accuracy of its estimation and forecasting, the creation of structures with a high position stability and the onboard means of its control, taking into account domestic and foreign experience; ? during production: technological support of vehicles systems and components manufacturing quality, which directly influence on the stability (braking system, steering system, suspension and so on), the production of advanced onboard means of control, development of new and improvement of existing methods of test wheel machines for stability; ? at the operation stage: improvement of the approaches to the system ?driver-vehicleroad conditions? in the form of compliance with conditions and rules of vehicles operation on slopes, ensuring the required level of control of units and systems technical condition, as well as the condition of the driver affecting the stability. At the system approach to the formation and provide the vehicles stability it is necessary to solve three main tasks: to elaborate and to establish in the form of a standard required stability level; to minimize the cost of time and money for design, manufacture and operation of vehicle with the required level of stability; to provide the necessary organizational activities to ensure standards of stability in operation. During the stages of the machines life cycle the formation and support of position stability system of parameters is going, which is defined as a standard for performance when operating to ensure safety of use. Regulatory framework of the machines stability parameters is structured by stages of the life cycle. The principles of concept development in the design, manufacture and operation are based on a systematic, integrated approach that includes development of onboard mean of control. The approach to provide articulated wheeled vehicles stability on the basis of use of the device to control the tilt angles and mobile registration-measuring system with appropriate software SPSAV and DPSAV is developed. Operational tests of articulated wheel tractors with nominal pulling force 30 and 40 kN confirmed the required accuracy of the estimation and the performance of the proposed equipment and software to ensure the position stability at movement in heavy road conditions. The obtained results can be recommended to specialists for use in the design, production, certification and operation of wheel machines.
