ON THE KARELIANS AND THE KARELIAN LANGUAGE IN RUSSIAN

The problem of language variation in the context of northern dialect of the Karelian language (proper Karelian adverb and proper-Karelian adverb), and forms of genitive case of plural of ethnonym Karelians: Karelian and Karelians is considered in the article. Material of modern dictionaries of the Russian literary language and the National case of Russian is used. The assessment of the existing options in terms of tendencies of development of language system and norm is made.
