Howell-Jolly bodies in peripheral blood of Yellow-necked mouse (Apodemus flavicollis)living in the vicinity of pulp mill industrial complex

Abstract
The present study was focused on counting of Howell-Jolly bodies in peripheral blood of Yellow-necked mouse (Apodemus flavicollis), in localities Mních and Hrboltová. The aim of the study was counting Howell-Jolly bodies per 1000 erythrocytes in peripheral blood for all 164 captured animals. Increase of Howell-Jolly bodies was recorded for 47% of Yellow-necked mice in locality Mních and for 35% in locality Hrboltová. Amount of Howell-Jolly bodies in peripheral blood of animals between two study sites did not differ significantly, but showed tendency to increase.
