Abstract
In this article the causes of mass migration of the population from the African continent to Italy are considered. The main characteristics of migrants’ structure and their situation in the Republic of Italy are reflected. The important point concerning public opinion of Italy’s population regarding stay of so large number of illegal migrants is analyzed.
