Abstract
The experience of geographical research in Pavlodar region shows that its territory has a certain range of recreational value of the properties applicable to the organization of summer and winter recreation of different population groups. The purpose of the study - a comprehensive assessment of the current state and opportunities for the usage of natural-resource potential for the development of territorial recreational system of Pavlodar region. For this purpose we considered the following interrelated objectives: analyze and summarize the theoretical and methodological framework for the assessment and mapping of natural resources potential for the development of territorial recreational system; identify the main natural resources and to assess natural resource potential for the development of recreation in the region; to establish the possibility of using the natural resources potential for recreation and tourism; to develop a series of maps of recreational areas as a basis for a sustainable and nature conformable organization of territorial recreational system of Pavlodar region; to develop recommendations on the usage of natural-resource potential of Pavlodar region in the tourism and recreation activities.
