Abstract
Recently there were some signs of investment activity development of the Kazakhstan banks. The understanding that the period of absolute domination of "short-term money" draws to an end, and from the beginning of economic stabilization the banks carrying out investments into production will get measurable benefit. It allows to assume that even existence of well-known negative factors ? high inflation, too long period of returns, high cost of projects, etc. ? won't become an obstacle for banks’ participation in the modernization of Kazakhstan economy. A number of large banks reconsider the development strategy and begin actively to join to the investment process. In this article the existing problems which in this or that degree thwart progress of credit and investment activity of Kazakhstan banks are considered.
