Abstract
The qualitative and quantative characterization of periodontal pathogenic microflora of gingival pockets at 20 patients with moderately severe chronic general periodontitis was made by means of molecular genetic method. The method of polymerase chain reaction was used to detect Porphyromonas gingivalis, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, Tanerella forsythia, Fusobacterium nucleatum, Prevotella intermedia, Treponema denticola and Porphyromonas endodontalis in the content of gingival pockets. In gingival pockets, Tannerella forsythia and Fusobacterium nucleatum were found in 100 % of cases, Prevotella intermedia, Treponema denticola and Porphyromonas endodontalis were found at 60 % of patients. Aggretibacter actinomycetemcomitans was found only at one patient (5 %). The amount of periodontal pathogenic microorganisms in the content of gingival pockets varied notably. The amount of Prevotella intermedia, Porphyromonas endodontalis and Tannerella forsythia prevailed.
