Abstract
In the problems of approximation of observed dependencies, the known measurement data generally contain errors. In this case information processing is usually carried out in stages. At the first stage, the useful signal extraction from the data collection, i.e. suppression of noise components is implemented. At the second stage, the main characteristics of the extracted useful signal are determined, which can require using complex algorithms and take considerable time when working with large amount of data. Here an important role is played by smoothing splines.
