Abstract

In this article the features of information society are considered. Besides, the system of informational power and its essence are showed. The main criteria of the efficiency of information management are established. The author concluded from an analysis of public opinion polls that the government information policy in the field of mass media needs to be improved, and identified the principal feature of this policy in Russia to enable the enhancement of its efficiency.
