Abstract
Isolated ventricular non compaction is a rare type of cardiomyopathy with uncertainetiology .This results from arrest of ventricular compaction of myocardium during embryogenesis. This disorder is diagnosed mainly by transthoracic echocardiography by presence of excessive prominent trabeculations with deep intertrabecular recesses.Magnetic resonance imaging is needed in some cases for confirming the diagnosis.Clinical manifestations include heart failure, atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, embolic events.Usually left ventricle is involved in majority of patients, isolated rightventricle involvement has been reported rarely. Here we report a case of isolated right ventricular noncompaction in a 19 year old male who presented with severe right heart failure and atrial fibrillation
