Abstract
The article analyzes the characteristics of the terraces. The methods of their application on sloping lands and distinguishing features of various types of terraces. The recommended geometric parameters of the terraces depending on the slope of the terrain and the type of arranged terraces on the criterion of the effectiveness of the delay of precipitation and exclusion of erosive processes.
