Abstract
The article is devoted to features of management of rural municipal formations in Russia. particular attention is drawn to the legal framework for the management of rural settlements.. Shows that rural municipalities have a number of features that distinguish them from other types of municipalities. As a result of the investigations identified issues that hamper efficient management of rural settlements and recommendations to mitigate these issues.
