Results of laboratory research of intensity of swelling of seeds of hybrids of corn and their parental forms depending on a structure endosperm are given in work. It is established that the major factor influencing the speed of swelling of seeds is temperature. Besides, seeds with mealy endosperms absorb water more intensively and in bigger volume
